The burning question is what if why? in the universe does not exist, why? and how? is man asking why? The answer is because of the need to create relationships without which reasoning loses its futility; it becomes devoid of the thread central to reasoning.
The latest theory is that the big bang was beyond reasoning, therefore everything else is beyond because; this is at the very least premature and at the most not thought through. The first point to make is that what we know of man's big bangs in the universe is that they are not creative and the aftermath, depending upon the degree of explosion, is a rambling disorder, all relationships shattered. It is true also that as a result of anti-relationship the consequence has to go through massive re-order before normal relationships can be resumed. It is true to say that if anti-relationship destroyed pre-universal existence the aftermath of such destruction would be so disordered and lacking in relationship. The consequences of anti-relationships are disorder, yet the universe that we know is precisely ordered and is so because without precise relationship the universe would not be as it stands. Out of destruction developed relationship. So the answer must be that existence and reality overcame the cataclysmic and the total of complete nothing was for ever destroyed. By forming relationships the seeds of the universe gave way to becoming caught in relationships that have remained. As relationships develop they progressively attract value. They why? lies in the value of the universe. Value is verified. Given time, man was born out of development which led him to become the only existence on the only planet that has reason, since reasoning beyond eating is foremost to man's existence.
The concept of why? is central to reasoning; consequently it must be that why? was born out of how? but developed to the point where why? as a central question uses how? as a satellite question. There is idea, relationship, consequence, that is subsequently valued.
The big bang theory explains how? and not why? simply because it was a destructive act in the history of the universe. It was an obstacle to be overcome before real relationship causal of consequence led to long term value, i.e. that distance, orbits, gravity, the distance of the travel of light with its beneficial/damaging effects, shape of the universe, shape of the planets, inter-effective nothing all add up to regular relationship that is the existence of the universe.
