Detail for the purpose of how realistics can help with planning the future, i.e. can form a sounding board for direction of purpose and common link of apparent differentness is developed.
1) Clairvoyance and Astrology - the ways of predicting the future, by what many must regard as sceptical means. Realistics looks at this. The relationship between the various factors of clairvoyance and astrology are aimed at analysis of both short and long term future in a way that does not produce hypothesis but definite factors which means that they try to secure the future for the individual. The human being is largely insecure in being, as life is fragile yet strong. The search for security is also a search for direction. Consequently if the future can be mapped out in a way that the individual can, relate to, it helps to secure the mind. There is the establishment of why, and because. There is reason and reasoning, no matter how sceptical you may be of the basis of reasoning, and of the outcome.
2) The Bookmaker - the bookmaker is a man who uses the future to make a living that is sporting, necessary to the bookmaker. The future is the subject of hypothesis using present and past form as a guide. What emerges is a shape to a race before it is run, much in the same way as an astrologer builds the future. The result is that the bookmaker becomes directly limited to successfully juggling with possibilities in order that no matter the outcome of the race, he either loses as little as possible or gains as much as possible. The bookmaker is reasoning with the outcome of the future and trading off possibility to make his result more a probability than a possibility. The "odds" that he creates are the bread and butter of his livelihood. Therefore an adept and sophisticated mind is called for. How to juggle with future hypotheses in a way that the eventual future is likely to be more, rather than less, favourable. This is reasoning, backed up with strong why and because relationship: realistics on the one hand working to secure the future and on the other hand playing a game that is fun and exciting.
3) Government - the future of government is decided by vote but it is unclear whether it is the voice of the majority or minority. Government by realistics is the study of a previous chapter. Essentially the point is that if power is overthrown as a chief factor in government, then government by realistics champions reason over power, renouncing dogma, idealism, separatism and argument in favour of combining individualism with socialism as a centralising, mobiising force which only exists through reason.
The list of subjects that realistics can invade and comnmonise in importance is varied. Some are listed below.
